Michael Phelps has plunked down $1.69 million for a condo on the waterfront in Baltimore, Md. Here's the headline -- practicing in that pool ain't gonna win him any medals.
His new pad is 4,080 sq. ft. (check out the model in the photos). The complex has a rooftop terrace, a private screening room, a state of the art gym, a clubhouse with pool tables.
If you're wondering where the money came from, Phelps was projected to earn between three and five mil this year even before the gold.

After going for a swim off a private yacht in Capri on Wednesday, Mimi had a team of towel boys and girls on hand to dry her crazy bones. Isn't that Nick Cannon's job?

It looks like Green Bay Packers New York Jets QB Brett Favre is selling out -- of his new jersey!
Sources tell TMZ that the QB has continued his record breaking ways by selling 3200 jerseys ... and counting! That sets a single day sales record and single day, single player jersey sales record.
Just as amazing -- it hasn't been 24 hours since the official announcement of the trade.
Favre's Green Bay jersey is the top selling jersey of all time.

TMZ spies caught Martin Lawrence dining with two members of his posse at Musashi Japanese restaurant in Simi Valley, CA -- where he apparently dropped $120 dollars on a $140 bill. Watch your back, Seacrest!

TMZ spies were in Aruba last weekend, when rapper/mega-producer Timbaland got hitched on a private island. But don't think everything was as fancy as it looks!
Spies at the wedding site tell us Timbaland's wedding -- which the hotel called code name "Heaven on Earth" -- featured open mic karaoke and $50k worth of flowers -- which compared to Mariah-size weddings is peanuts!
Peeps like Oprah, Madonna, Missy Elliott, Beyonce, Jay-Z and Prince were invited -- but we don't know if they actually showed.

They -- and many many other A-listers -- roll big at Girls Gone Wild creator Joe Francis' massive palacio, Casa Aramara in Punta Mita, Mexico. Best of all -- it's totally free. And if you were thinking about it for your next vaca - sorry. It's by personal invite only -- Joe doesn't rent this crib out.
Of course, the price these peeps pay is that everyone in the Western world knows you were there.

Holy American Express! The weaved wonder went on a Britastic Lisa Kline shopping spree this week -- and she got the goods!
Brit spent around $2,500 on herself - with her most expensive purchase a $380 Brian Reyes cami (yes- a tank top). She also walked out with a pair of Justin Timberlake's brand William Rast jeans. Missing those glory days?
Spears then dropped around $800 in Lisa Kline Kids, picking up cargo pants, jeans and a pair of "Rebel With a Cause" tees for her little Feds.
Total for the day - $3,300. And all this time we thought her clothes came from Wal-Mart.

Cleveland Cavalier LeBron James recently dined at Cleveland's XO Prime Steaks where he ate like a king, but tipped like a servant.
According to Cleveland Scene, LeBron and a few friends stopped by the restaurant for a late night bite. The group stayed well past closing time, until nearly 4:00 AM, ordering drinks and racking up an $800 bill. When it came time to pay up, LeBron allegedly left a measly $10 tip. Brick!
Maybe LeBron should take a lesson in tipping from Barack Obama.
Calls to LeBron's rep were not returned.

"Kate" Holmes has plunked down cash for more than 40 blankets for her little Scientolo-tot. What, like she's supposed to get hand-me-downs from the Beckham boys?
A source at trendy baby boutique Little Giraffe told us that Tom's wife buys the $78 plush, satin and Chenille blanket in bulk - ten at a time. We're guessing laundry day at the Cruise compound comes around as often as "Kate" gets good movie roles.
