Paula: I'm Deeply Hurt

In an exclusive statement to TMZ, Paula Abdul says:

"I am deeply hurt and extremely disappointed that someone has taken a private telephone conversation that I had with my representatives and released it to the media. This is not only illegal but also highly unethical. While I don't feel a need to justify or explain my conversation, even as a public figure I do feel my privacy has been violated and find this action to be unacceptable."

As first reported by Page Six and posted by Perez Hilton, a secretly taped phone conversation was released today -- which featured a sobbing Abdul discussing her former publicist and their strained relationship. Paula, we're told, is now back with her longtime publicist Jeff Ballard.

Unfortunately for her, the "Idol" judge was in London for the past few days and had no clue about the controversy that was swirling around her until she arrived in the States today.

Welcome back!

76. I hope the FCC goes after Perez Hilton. Please, please take him down. That slime ball has made a career out of hurting people. Someone has to stop him.

77. Paula might be a bit weird but Perez is a disgusting, fat useless tool of a lowlife. There's not a single original thing about him or his site and everything that's worth viewing on there has already been posted on either PageSix, UsMagazine or TMZ!!!! TMZ should stop supporting this portly freak without a leash and just plug Page Six instead. They have a questionable past (J. Paul Stern, anyone?) but at least they are mature enough to not make fun of babies and steal other websites' pictures, LOGOS and stories. He's nothing more than a meth-addled, self-hating Petunia Pig wannabe!!!

78. Abdul isn't wrapped too tight. She needs to lay off the recreational drugs, and get some Prozac in her system. She is fast becoming the national joke.

80. What was the point of taping and releasing that phone call? So she was crying and feeling taken advantage of by a person who she pays $$$ to....and? Who ever released that is dumb there's nothing juicy about that phone call. oh, and Paula you are not too old for a cover. You're hott, your ex publicist must be smokin' crack or he's a pedophile anything over 8 is too old.

82. Paula is a georgous very kind lady who doesn't deserve this public humility. How sad that people are benefiting off her pain. I too suffer from chronic pain and yes I do have to take pain medication. Folks who do not understand are the ones who throw stones. I commend her for being herself in spite of high criticism. Also, I do not think she is to old to be on the cover of a magazine. In fact, I think she is a classy, good, pretty woman. Hold your head up girl because you have many supporters who only wish you love and happiness.

83. Regardless of your opinion of her personally, taping and releasing a PRIVATE phone call is pure crap. She wasn't venting to the media or on camera, she was venting on a personal phone call. I hope someone is held accountable.

All I can say is THANK GOODNESS that has never happened to me when I'm upset or angry. My phone call would be one long BLEEP.

84. Poor, poor Paula. What she doesn't understand is that hardle anyone cares. She is not a celebrity anymore; she is a caricature. She's probably too drugged/drunk to know the difference.

87. Don't you remember after the multi interview debacle a short time back when she answered the wrong questions and broke into dance? She defended herself saying she didn't drink or do drugs and that she wasn't in pain anymore.

She said she acts crazy, silly, dancing because she is just happy to not be in pain. So why now suddenly is she back to talking about being in pain and it's the cause of her weird behavior?

Back in the 90's she was accused of stretching her video to make herself appear thinner. Can't remember the name it's the one she is dancing in a bathing suit in the rain forest. She denied it and then said she had a eating disorder to draw attention away from her stretched video. Whenever she is questioned she comes out with an ailment so people will feel sorry for her and leave her alone.

Some one's phone conversation isn't going to just be taped. It would be obvious it was the man she was talking to. I doubt he taped and released it to the media expecting to get away with it. I think it was Paula that released it.

90. I really hope Paula doesn't read these negative comments because she really doesn't deserve it. She has been nothing but sweet to anyone she comes in contact with. She may have a pill problem but at least you don't see reports of her getting DUI's and flippin' off paps, getting arrested, etc.

Paula Abdul is genuinely nice and a down to earth person even after all her years in the limelight. We could only hope that other celebrities were as down to earth.

Love ya Paula!!
